triple lock success

Beatrix lock reached financial close on 11 February 2016.

The project involves the design and construction of a lock on the Lek Canal. It also includes the renovation of the existing two lock chambers, the widening of the canal, and the construction of lock approaches and berths in the canal.

This close involved three commercial bank and on the sponsors’ side, the Sas van Vreeswijk consortium comprising: Besix Group, Jan De Nul, Heijmans, TDP and Rebelgroup.

The Beatrix lock project is part of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (Rijkswaterstaat)’s Locks Programme. This national program includes six projects: Limmel, Eefde, Beatrix Lock, IJmond , Terneuzen and the Afsluitdijk. So far three projects have reached a successful close and we are pleased to have been able to support the winning bidder on each.

This project involved our teams based in London and Delhi and tax and accounting advisory services from our team based in The Netherlands.
