Funso is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN); he holds a BSc. in Economics from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Prior to joining Mazars in June 2020, ‘Funso worked in Deloitte & Touche and Andersen Tax for about 9 years providing tax and regulatory services to local, multinational and foreign individuals and corporates. Over the course of his career, he has distinguished himself as a seasoned tax and business advisor. His experience cuts across a broad range of tax and regulatory solutions. These include tax and regulatory opinions, individual & corporate tax compliance, tax due diligence (mergers & acquisitions), tax structuring, tax audit/investigation support, tax optimization, strategy & risk assessments, tax accounting & reporting and tax dispute resolution. His professional experience covers a wide variety of industries which include: Consumer business, Hotel and Hospitality, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Trading, Construction, Transportation and Logistics, Courier services and Oil and Gas.
He has contributed to several thought leadership content on tax and fiscal matters in the print and electronic media and has facilitated several training sessions/programs for clients and various tax authorities in Nigeria.
