Harris Waseem

Director - Energy & infrastructure
Let's Talk Energy

Harris is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and has 20 years of experience in providing financial advisory services to his clients having worked in both Big 4 and mid-tier accounting firms in the UK.

Harris has advised clients operating in a wide range of sectors during his career but more recently has focussed on project finance transactions across energy, transport, environment and waste.

Harris was central to establishing the distressed infrastructure advisory group at his previous employer (a Big 4 firm), which focussed on assisting funders, private sector shareholders and the public sector (local authorities/grantors/municipalities) in UK, European and Global infrastructure and project finance deals.

He has specific competence in leading financial reviews, diligence and projections reviews for project finance / infrastructure deals. He understands key value drivers underpinning transactions as well as being able to assess counterparty risk.

His experience with both UK and international project finance / infrastructure cases (sometimes with syndicated debt structures) has helped him to understand the often complex dynamic and competing objectives between public and private sector stakeholders

Harris has advised and transacted with a number of multilateral financial institutions in the past, including the EIB, AfDB and EBRD as well as international export agencies such as JBIC, EDC and K-Exim. He therefore understands the unique characteristics of these institutions and the important role they play in the structuring and financing of project finance / infrastructure deals.
