Extended period for UK VAT reclaims by US businesses for 2017-18

Extended period for UK VAT reclaims by US businesses for 2017-18

Wed 03 Apr 2019

HMRC has indicated that those US businesses prevented from making 13th Directive VAT reclaims for UK VAT for the 2017-18 period (the year to 30 June 2018) due to the inability to get a proper certificate of residence, may still be able to file a valid claim.  The revised claim deadline for such businesses has been changed from 31 March 2019 to 30 May 2019.

It is understood Revenue & Customs Brief 12/2018 will be updated in due course.
